What's in a name?
I am an interdisciplinary artist and clinical herbalist devoted to the intersection of social and environmental justice. My work spans a variety of media, including painting, photography, short film, activism, and herbalism. My artistic endeavors have shown internationally and have been featured in the New York Times. I have extensive administrative experience with art, justice, and education based organizations and nonprofits, ranging from grassroots collectives to medium sized institutions. Organizationally, I facilitated the growth of the world’s first queer museum (Leslie-Lohman Museum) and managed mural programs for detained young people on Riker’s Island (Groundswell). More recently, I was Program Director and Creative Strategist for a radical youth art school (Scribble). I am now in practice as an interdisciplinary social practice artist, muralist, educator, and trauma-informed clinical herbalist in effort to lessen the divide between humans and the environment through the healing exchange. You can currently find me practicing yoga and building an integrative and holistic arts and healing practice.
